Who You Are
The Sr Engineer, Product Development will play a critical role in driving the success of DIRTT projects by leading the design and development efforts. They will be responsible for creating innovative, efficient, and cost-effective solutions that meet DIRTTs clients’ requirements. They should have deep understanding of engineering principles, strong technical expertise, and the ability to manage and mentor junior team members.
- Lead and oversee the design and development of engineering projects, ensuring that they meet quality, budget, and timeline objectives.
- Create and optimize product designs, ensuring they meet or exceed industry standards and client specifications.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, product managers, and other engineers, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Implement and enforce quality control processes to ensure the highest standards are met throughout the design and development phases.
- Identify and address engineering challenges, proposing creative and practical solutions to meet project objectives.
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including design specifications, technical drawings, and reports.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs, provide technical insights, and ensure their satisfaction with the final product.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, helping them develop their skills and contribute to the team's success.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices to continually improve the quality of our designs and engineering services.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field).
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng., or PE) license.
- 5 years of proven experience in product design and engineering services, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design and analysis tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MATLAB, ANSYS, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Leadership and mentorship experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
