Job Title: Religious Education Coordinator, Full-time (35 hrs/wk)
Reporting to: Pastor/Administrator
Location: Sacred Heart Parish | Bradenton, FL

Overview:

The Coordinator of Religious Education/Youth Ministry Coordinator will plan, integrate, implement, oversee, and evaluate the religious education/faith formation of the total Parish community.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate catechetical programs: Faith Formation in Grades K-10, Sacramental Preparation, Home School Supervision, and Youth and Young Adult Faith Formation.
  • Assist the DRE and Pastor in planning Parish short and long-term goals regarding the religious education program.
  • Prepare and administer the Religious Education operating budgets in accordance with budget policies.
  • Collaborate and communicate with the DRE, Pastor and other Parish ministries on an on-going basis regarding scheduling and promotion of events.
  • Develop plans and implement for the recruitment and training of catechists and volunteers.
  • Schedule regular catechist and volunteer meetings to encourage the development of a catechetical faith community.
  • Assist catechists and volunteers with their certification requirements.
  • Meet the requirements of safe environment policies regarding Safe Environment Training for Youth
  • Act as a liaison between the Parish and the Diocesan Office of Religious Education and Youth Ministry with DRE.
  • Attend Diocesan meetings related to Religious Education, Youth Ministry and Safe Environment Program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be a practicing Roman Catholic
  • Bachelor's Degree in Religious Education, Theology or Catechetics and Evangelization
  • Two (2) years of experience overseeing a religious education or faith formation program in a Parish setting.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish
  • Excellent communications skills both written and oral
