About this role

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer with 5+ years of experience to own the firmware and embedded software stack for Dexmate's general-purpose robots. You'll sit at the intersection of hardware and software, developing motor control firmware, sensor interfaces, real-time communication infrastructure, and reliable embedded systems for physical robots. This is a high-ownership role where you'll help define how the platform scales from lab prototype to deployed fleet. We need someone with strong C/C++ skills and production-level embedded experience who thrives in a small, fast-moving team building the future of physical AI.

What will you be doing?

Developing motor control firmware, sensor drivers, communication protocols, and hardware abstraction layers for general-purpose robots

Owning hardware bring-up — writing low-level peripheral drivers, validating new PCBs, and debugging firmware/hardware boundary issues

Implementing and optimizing motor control algorithms (torque, velocity, position loops) on bare-metal and RTOS platforms

Developing and maintaining real-time communication stacks (EtherCAT, CAN, SPI, I2C, UART)

Contributing to firmware safety architecture, establishing coding standards, and building CI/CD and hardware-in-the-loop test infrastructure
