About this role

Delaware Elevator is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Product Configuration Specialist to join our Engineering team. This role is critical to ensuring our configurable products are accurate, manufacturable, and efficiently quoted by translating complex engineering requirements into intelligent configuration logic within our ERP/CPQ systems.

As the bridge between Engineering, Sales, Product Management, and Manufacturing, you'll play a key role in streamlining product configuration, pricing, and ordering processes while supporting the continued growth of one of the nation's leading independent elevator companies.

What You'll Do

As our Product Configuration Specialist, you will:

  • Develop and maintain rule-based product configuration models that translate engineering specifications into user-friendly configuration logic.
  • Configure and maintain product catalogs, pricing rules, part numbers, and product features within ERP/CPQ systems.
  • Partner with Engineering, Sales, Product Management, and Manufacturing to ensure custom product requests are technically feasible, manufacturable, and accurately priced.
  • Test and validate configuration models to ensure compatibility, functionality, and error-free product selections.
  • Create, maintain, and document configuration changes while ensuring version control and system integrity.
  • Identify opportunities to improve configuration processes, automation, and data accuracy through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support ongoing maintenance and enhancement of technical and commercial configuration models.
  • Troubleshoot configuration issues and recommend effective solutions that improve efficiency and user experience.
  • Help ensure product data remains accurate, consistent, and aligned across enterprise systems.

What We're Looking For

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, aerospace, telecommunications, or another industry producing highly configurable products.
  • 2+ years of elevator industry experience preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP, CPQ, or product configuration systems.

  • Experience translating engineering requirements into rule-based configuration logic.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • A continuous improvement mindset focused on optimizing business processes and system performance.

Technical Knowledge

Preferred experience with:

  • SAP Variant Configuration, Oracle, Salesforce CPQ, ARAS, or similar enterprise configuration platforms.
  • CRM systems such as SAP CRM, Salesforce, or comparable platforms.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
  • Product configuration methodologies, configuration logic, and CPQ best practices.
  • ERP systems, product lifecycle management (PLM), and related enterprise technologies.
