The Department of Economics and Business is seeking a reliable, friendly, and organized student worker to assist with front desk operations. 

As a front desk assistant, you will be the first point of contact for students, faculty, and visitors, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the department.


Tasks Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist visitors, students, and faculty in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
  • Handle routine clerical tasks such as filing, copying, scanning, and data entry.
  • Assist with event planning and coordination, including preparing materials and setting up rooms.
  • Distribute mail and manage office supplies inventory.
  • Support departmental projects and perform other administrative tasks as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Must be a current student at OWU preferably enrolled in the Economics or Business program.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new software.
  • Able to make Canva Fliers and materials.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Previous office or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
