Decision Technologies seeks a qualified Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia
Position Description:
This Facilities Maintenance position supports the upkeep, repair, and efficient operation of company buildings and grounds. The role involves performing routine maintenance, assisting with minor construction tasks, troubleshooting basic mechanical issues, and helping maintain facility systems. The ideal candidate will have foundational construction knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and basic computer proficiency to support documentation, communication, and work‑order systems.

Responsibilities and Duties:
· Perform routine building maintenance, including repairs, inspections, and preventative tasks.
· Assist with minor construction activities such as painting, drywall repair, flooring, and fixture installations.
· Troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical issues with equipment, building systems, and tools.
· Support maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components as directed.
· Maintain clean, organized work areas and facility spaces.
· Complete work orders and maintenance logs using computer‑based systems.
· Assist with vendor coordination, on‑site support, and materials delivery.
· Monitor building conditions and report issues promptly.
· Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
· Basic knowledge of construction practices and tools.
· Mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose simple equipment or facility issues.
· Basic computer skills, including ability to use email, digital forms, and maintenance software.
· Ability to lift, move, and carry materials and equipment as needed.
· Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently and follow instructions clearly.
· Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively.
Desired Qualifications:
· Prior experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or related trades.
· Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry work.
· Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
· Ability to read simple construction plans or technical diagrams.
· Strong communication skills and ability to work well with staff, contractors, and vendors.
