We are hiring an Assistant Manager – Production Planning and Control (PPC) for one of our clients, a leading metal and steel manufacturing company based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders, production capacity, inventory levels, and business priorities
  • Coordinate with production departments to ensure adherence to production schedules and delivery commitments
  • Monitor production progress and provide management with updates on production status, delays, bottlenecks, and corrective actions
  • Coordinate with stores and procurement teams to ensure the timely availability of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and packing materials
  • Track inventory levels of raw materials, finished goods, and work-in-progress materials
  • Prepare production reports, dispatch reports, MIS reports, and operational performance summaries
  • Coordinate dispatch planning and ensure the timely delivery of finished goods in line with customer requirements
  • Monitor production efficiency, capacity utilization, yield, and wastage trends
  • Support the implementation of ERP systems and maintain accurate production planning records and data
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams regarding shutdown planning and its impact on production
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning accuracy, production optimization, and inventory control
  • Ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS), including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018
  • Ensure planning and coordination activities comply with company quality procedures and operational controls
  • Support the implementation of operational controls to minimize production delays, wastage, rework, and environmental impact
  • Ensure proper documentation, record retention, and traceability for production planning and dispatch activities
  • Participate in IMS audits, management reviews, and corrective and preventive action follow-ups
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure compliance with safety requirements during production planning and shutdown scheduling
  • Support initiatives related to energy efficiency, waste reduction, process optimization, and continuous improvement
  • Promote safe work practices and QHSE awareness within the department

Authority

  • Coordinate and monitor production schedules across departments
  • Communicate production priorities and planning requirements to relevant departments
  • Recommend changes to production plans based on operational conditions and customer priorities
  • Coordinate with stores, procurement, dispatch, and production departments to ensure material availability and schedule alignment
  • Escalate production delays, material shortages, and operational risks to management
  • Access production, inventory, and planning data required for operational coordination and reporting

Accountabilities

  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of production schedules and planning reports
  • Coordinate production activities to achieve delivery commitments and operational targets
  • Maintain the accuracy of production planning, inventory tracking, and dispatch coordination
  • Reduce production delays, material shortages, and operational bottlenecks
  • Ensure compliance with IMS requirements, documentation standards, and operational procedures
  • Report operational issues, production deviations, and planning risks on time
  • Ensure effective coordination between production, stores, procurement, maintenance, dispatch, and sales teams
  • Maintain planning records, traceability, and audit readiness




Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in Production Planning and Control (PPC) within steel manufacturing, rolling mills, or heavy industrial environments
  • Strong knowledge of production planning and scheduling, inventory management, material requirements planning (MRP), ERP systems, dispatch coordination, and manufacturing processes
  • Good analytical, coordination, communication, and reporting skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP applications
  • Experience working in industrial manufacturing environments with strong production planning and coordination capabilities
  • Familiarity with rolling mill production processes, inventory and dispatch management, ERP-based planning systems, and production reporting
  • Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage multiple operational priorities
  • Good understanding of IMS documentation and operational compliance requirements
