Job Summary
Job Responsibilities
- Involved with the analysis, design, development and implementation of new and/or existing systems/sub-systems. May include Architectural Design, Requirements Engineering, or others. Determine system specifications. Support acquisition of hardware and software (or subcontractor services as needed).
- Responsible for technical activity and completion of assigned task on time and budget
- Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems
- May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments.
- Report of progress and status regularly
- Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
- Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments
- Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
- Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
- Develop prototypes to retire key development risks
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
- Participates in preparation of less-complex proposals
- May provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
Job Responsibilities Part II
- Demonstrates familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and tools (e.g., Cameo, DOORS), or a willingness to learn and apply these practices.
- Develops skills in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) or advanced automation techniques to support engineering analysis and decision-making.
- Applies hands-on experience in subsystem development, including hardware, software, mechanical, and test components, taking ownership of assigned technical solutions.
- Capable of independently planning, executing, and leading smaller-scale projects or technical work packages.
- Shows initiative in exploring new methods, tools, or approaches under guidance from senior engineers.
- Contributes to team knowledge sharing, including lessons learned, research, or prototypes in emerging technologies such as MBSE and AI.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Competent technical expertise and application domain knowledge
- Ability to work independently
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
