Job Description

David Weekley Homes is seeking a Design City Coordinator to join the Design Services team in the Dallas Division. This role supports the development and coordination of residential home plans and construction drawings across the division, ensuring they align with community and developer guidelines.

This role provides exposure to the residential development process, supporting projects from initial design documentation through construction.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the production of construction documents from our international and local drafting teams to ensure plans are accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinate plan updates for permitting with division teams, engineers, internal partners, and municipalities.  
  • Create and update community requirements to ensure construction documents are following city and developer guidelines.
  • Maintain and organize plan archives and documentation.
  • Assist builders and teams with plan-related questions during construction.
  • Coordinate with Design City Manager and Land Managers on new community and phase openings.
  • Manage lot fit packages for new communities and phases which include organizing and obtaining final plats, drawing lots, and confirming plan fits. 
  • Work closely with Design City Manager on high priority and special projects.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple plan updates.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to guide team members, manage internal and external relationships, and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and visualization skills
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations and construction practices.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in architecture, architectural drafting, environmental design, or a similar field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit software.
  • Ability to read and understand residential construction drawings (floor plans, elevations, sections, and details).
