Description

  • Create and maintain a safe work environment through employee buy-in
  • Identify hazards and act proactively to minimize hazards, investigate incidents and participate in corrective actions
  • Provide leadership on the production floor and achieve excellence in safety, health, environmental, and quality
  • Teach, coach, correct, train and cheerlead employees in safety, quality and production through excellent communication skills and machine knowledge
  • Become the most knowledgeable person regarding the facility machinery
  • Ensure best practices are being followed to minimize waste at machine centers
  • Address key issues and concerns to ensure excellent quality and on-time delivery
  • Identify repairs needed at machine centers and create work orders for completion
  • Make recommendations to improve safety, quality, production, and customer satisfaction
  • Monitor production progress to eliminate waste and ensure adherence to production and shipping schedule
  • Plan, assign, and direct work for all hourly production employees; appraise performance and provide feedback through regularly scheduled crew meetings and annual evaluations
  • Willing and able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed

Requirements

  • Desire and ability to teach, coach and train employees
  • Three years of supervisory experience in manufacturing
  • Five years of experience operating corrugated converting machines
  • Able to manage multiple high throughput machines
  • Flexibility to work multiple shifts
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel (create/modify spreadsheets), Word (create/modify documents), and Outlook (send and receive email)

What Will Put You Ahead:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering
  • Five or more years of experience working in a supervisory role
  • Five or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience in manufacturing
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Proven track record of practical problem-solving
  • Possess the ability to be a self-directed team player
