Every workout follows D1's structured, sports-science-backed 8-week training cycle, moving athletes and adults alike through Rookie, Devo, Prep, and Adult programming. We're built around proven training methods, not gimmicks or fads, and our coaches are the ones who bring that philosophy to life every session.

POSITION OVERVIEW

D1 Training Melbourne is looking for a part-time Strength & Conditioning Coach who is passionate about training and about the people they train. This role leads small-group and semi-private sessions across our youth and adult programs, delivering pre-designed D1 workouts with high energy, sound coaching cues, and genuine attention to each athlete's technique and progress. This is a great fit for a coach who wants to build real coaching hours and a personal training client base within a growing, athlete-first facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coach and lead group, semi-private, and one-on-one training sessions for D1 Scholastic (ages 7–18), Adult, and Team programs.

• Deliver D1's pre-designed 8-week training cycles with proper instruction, energy, and motivation.

• Teach and correct exercise technique to reduce injury risk and reinforce safe, effective movement patterns.

• Modify and adapt workouts to fit each athlete's age, ability level, and goals.

• Build rapport with members and families to support retention, accountability, and a positive training environment.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe training floor, including proper use and care of equipment.

• Support front-desk, sales, or facility tours as needed during shifts.

• Represent the D1 brand and coaching philosophy with professionalism both in and out of the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Required

• Prior coaching experience — minimum of 1 year in strength & conditioning, personal training, group fitness, or team/athletic coaching.

• At least one current, nationally recognized strength & conditioning or personal training certification (e.g., CSCS, NASM-PES, NASM-CPT, ACE, ISSA, or equivalent NCCA-accredited certification).

• Current CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain before start date).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and connect with youth athletes and adults alike.

• Reliable availability for early morning, afternoon, and/or evening shifts.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.

• 2–3 years of strength and conditioning experience in a high school, collegiate, or professional performance setting.

• Background as a competitive athlete or team sport coach.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Competitive hourly pay, based on experience and certifications.

• Free membership at D1 Training Melbourne.

• Opportunities for continuing education and professional development.

• Ability to build a personal training client base within the facility.
