About this role

The Vice President of External Affairs is responsible for managing partnerships with sponsors, suit donors, dry cleaners, and any other companies outside of UBC and Sauder. This role is key to growing and maintaining relationships that support the long-term inventory and operations of SSU.

\nTime Commitment
Typically 5 hours per week, up to 10 hours per week in September/January
Term of Employment
August 2026 - April 2027
Main Responsibilities

  • Identify and reach out to potential sponsors and donors

  • Build and maintain ongoing relationships with dry cleaners 

  • Coordinate sponsorships for events and suit donations

  • Negotiate terms that benefit SSU’s operations and student affordability

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Professional and articulate in external outreach

  • Experience with sponsorship, sales, or business development is an asset

  • Confident in email and phone communications

Anticipated Learning Outcomes
The Vice President of External Affairs will develop skills in outreach, partnership management, and negotiation. This is a great role for someone interested in sales, PR, or external relations.
