About this role
Assess and apply new solution designs against defined architecture strategies, principles, policies and standards in alignment with the enterprise architecture strategies. Define new architecture solutions where needs are identified. Manage the process to identify, assess and prioritize issues and risks, and drive actions to minimize, monitor and control risks to maximize the most positive outcomes possible. Define complex application and solution designs for specific systems in coordination with project teams. Define and develop architecture deliverables, artifacts and building blocks by applying architecture principles by using an architecture development framework and methodology that enables the organization to transform the design of its systems in a controlled manner in response to business needs. Define component breakdown of the system, perform functional allocation to components, and establish interface between systems and among system components. Compose and decompose a system into component parts using Solution Functional Fit analysis to study how well the components were designed and configured to interact holistically to meet business requirements. Develop standards, design patterns and configurations that can be reused as building blocks for other solutions. Utilize data analysis tools such as extraction, modeling, communication, and management to deliver reporting and dashboard solutions to business needs. Collaborate with project and product teams to understand requested capabilities and provide correct solutions. Perform complex cost/benefit analysis when researching future state capabilities. Audit solution design to ensure compliance with architectural patterns and standards. Monitor architecture solution performance and prevent performance issues when introducing new capabilities to the system. Create System Solution Architecture designs and patterns using CLEAN standards, and existing reference patterns to maintain alignment to Cummins standards. Utilize knowledge of Agile software development and DevSecOps to identify and implement improvements and baseline cost reduction opportunities in IT processes and projects. Collaborate with stakeholders, including functional excellence teams, to apply strategy to future state architecture.
