Job Summary
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, assembling, installing, testing, maintaining, and optimizing manufacturing equipment, automated machinery, robotic systems, and mechanical assemblies to ensure maximum equipment availability, reliability, and operational efficiency. The role supports preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, assembly, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, automated machinery, robotic systems, cobots, and mechanical assemblies.
- Interpret mechanical drawings, pneumatic schematics, assembly layouts, machine documentation, and technical specifications to execute maintenance activities accurately.
- Carry out preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical components including gearboxes, bearings, shafts, ball screws, linear motion systems, drive systems, and precision assemblies.
- Perform machine alignment, leveling, upgrades, retrofits, and modification activities to improve equipment performance.
- Install, troubleshoot, and optimize pneumatic systems including cylinders, valves, regulators, FRLs, sensors, tubing, and air preparation systems.
- Support installation, calibration, teaching, recovery, and basic programming of industrial robots and collaborative robots (Cobots), including End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT).
- Conduct precision measurements including runout, flatness, parallelism, concentricity, alignment, repeatability studies, and machine accuracy verification using precision measuring instruments.
- Analyze measurement results and recommend corrective actions to improve machine capability and performance.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records, equipment history, inspection reports, and preventive maintenance documentation.
- Support downtime analysis, root cause investigations, failure analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules with production requirements to minimize operational disruptions.
- Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, productivity, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while complying with Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), and quality standards.
- Coach and provide technical guidance to less experienced technicians when required.
