Job Summary:

The Fitness Center Front Desk Shift Coordinator is responsible for providing efficient, effective, quality customer service through a variety of duties including, but not limited to, fitness center member and guest check-in, completion of guest registration prior to fitness center access, and assistance with Center wayfinding for other building visitors and guests. Complies with established Center policies and procedures and HIPAA privacy rules. Ensures precise and timely communication, including prospective guests, training clients, and massage client appointment status to appropriate department(s). Assists in other department tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Front Desk Lead, the Shift Coordinator assists with the administrative responsibility for the Fitness Center Front Desk.

  • Greets Center members, guests, and visitors and demonstrates superior customer service in doing so.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of all the building programs and entities to effectively answer and direct visitors and guests to their appropriate location.

  • Verify those entering the Fitness Center to ensure the only active members in good standing are allowed entry.

  • Using the Club Automation system, processes various transactions, including the collection of past due balances, sale of retail items, massage, and personal training packages.

  • Monitors massage provider schedule and assists massage team with daily scheduling of clients.

  • Participates in establishing and improving processes and policies related to reception operations and participates in search committees for recruiting, coordinating interviews and site visits.

 

Work Location:

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite in Aurora, CO.

AHWC Fitness Center

The 30,000 sq ft, three-story Fitness Center at AHWC features state-of-the-art Technogym cardiovascular and Matrix resistance exercise equipment along with three dedicated studios for group exercise classes, a functional training space (FIT Lab), indoor track, pool, hot tub, locker rooms with dedicated steam rooms and saunas, and fitness assessment technology. The Fitness Center offers complimentary fitness consultation sessions, group exercise, personal training services, and massage. The Fitness Center supports over 3,100 members from the campus and community. The Fitness Center business operations are overseen by Fitness Center General Manager and Assistant General Manager. The Fitness Center has more than 50 employees.

Minimum Qualifications:

Administrative Assistant I:

  • One (1) year of administrative experience.

Administrative Assistant II:

  • Two (2) years of administrative experience.

     

  • Substitution: A combination of education and experience equal to the desired years of experience.

 

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Previous customer service experience in a Fitness Center.

  • Experience with Club Automation Point of Sale software.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as:

Administrative Assistant I - $39,520- 45,996

Administrative Assistant II - $40,248 - $ 48,300

The salary is based on 40 hours per week and would be pro-rated for part-time.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
