JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT
About this role
Job Purpose
This position is an entry-level position and will be primarily responsible for basic accounting tasks and assisting senior accounts with month-end procedures, payroll timecard managements, and audit requested tasks pertaining to the established accounting policies and procedures under close supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Data Entry: posting journal entries, recording daily transactions and updating financial records in accounting software
- Payroll Processing: review timecard entries and facilitate the payroll processing through 3rd party payroll provider
- Account Reconciliation and Month-End / Year-End Closing: complete bank reconciliation and account reconciliation as assigned
- Auditing Support: provide documentation and assistance during internal or external audits as requested
- Financial Reporting: support the preparation of compliance reports through various systems and programs as needed
- Data Analysis: perform financial data analysis as directed by senior accountants
- Other Accounting Functions: be able to support AP/AR and accounting records retentions
- All other projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and strong understanding of accounting principles GAAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and any accounting software.
- Good communication and organization skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Have an open mind and be willing to learn
Physical Demands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Ability to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Able to constantly position yourself to maintain files in file cabinets such as reaching with hands and arms, kneeling, crouching, etc.
- The ability to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, and exchange information is crucial for this role.

Services are available in a variety of Chinese dialects, including, Cantonese, Mandarin, Toishan, Chiu Jou, as well as other languages, such as Vietnamese, and Spanish.
CSC has an annual operating budget of over $10 million, with diverse sources of funding from the federal government, State of California, the County and City of Los Angeles, United Way, Asian Pacific Community Fund, corporate and private foundations, and private donations.
