2026-2027 Part Time Substitute School Nurse
About this role
Our Part-Time Substitute School Nurses impact students’ lives by:
- Responding with urgency to student health and hygiene needs
- Obtaining students’ health history; providing health assessments and ongoing counseling with students, parents, school personnel, or health agencies
- Screening and evaluating deficiencies in vision, hearing, and growth
- Maintaining, evaluating, and interpreting health data to accommodate individual student needs
- Developing and implementing student health plans
- Developing systems and procedures to provide emergency nursing services for injuries and illnesses
- Administering medication to students, as needed

- Are qualified to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Louisiana and hold an unrestricted license
- Are certified in CPR
- Have an outstanding record of working in school health, community health, public health, or pediatric nursing
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- This is an in-person role
