Automation Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift
About this role
SUMMARY:
This position is a part of the general maintenance group that installs, maintains, and repairs automated equipment, controls systems, and general equipment in the facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help install and repair all equipment throughout the facility, primarily focusing on automated equipment and control systems
- Diagnose, repair, and document issues with electrical, mechanical, and software issues to minimize downtime
- Adhere to safety protocols, adhere to lockout/tagout procedures, and ensure all systems comply with safety regulations
- Assist with the upkeep and repair of buildings and grounds
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Proven ability to quickly and effectively troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software issues
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams of new and existing systems
- Working with cross-functional teams of Operators to Management to solve problems
- Excellent communication within a cross-functional team of Operators and Management to
- Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians and Engineering for new system installation, and continuous improvement projects
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Associate degree in Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or Electrical Technology preferred.
- Certification from ISA (Certified Control System Technician – CCST), vendor-specific (Siemens, Rockwell, etc.) and OSHA preferred.
- Hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting
WORKING CONDITIONS/OTHER:
- Work Hours/Status:
- The 1st shift includes Monday - Thursday 5am – 3pm.
- The 2nd shift includes Monday - Thursday 3pm - 1am with a shift differential of $3.00/hr.
- The weekend shift includes Friday – Sunday 6am-6pm for a total of 36 hours and added weekend shift differential of $4.50/hr.
