Financial Analyst/ Accountant
About this role
Position Summary:
As a Financial Analyst at Crane Resistoflex, you will gain broad exposure to business performance, manufacturing operations, and cross-functional processes across the Resistoflex brand and Marion facility. Working closely with the Site Controller and finance leaders throughout the organization, you will analyse financial and operational results, support monthly forecasting activities, and contribute to the development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
This role combines financial analysis with operational insight, leveraging Operational Excellence tools and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance processes, identify opportunities, and translate data into actionable business recommendations. The Financial Analyst will also develop hands-on experience in manufacturing accounting, cost analysis, and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) reporting while partnering with operations, supply chain, engineering, and commercial teams to support informed decision-making and drive business performance.
Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):
- Supports in the monthly review and analysis of key variances in the Balance Sheet and Income Statements for Resistoflex brand.
- Support site financial controls, including SOX compliance, inventory controls, product costing, and ERP transactions.
- Develop an understanding of Crane’s business, operations, and organizational structure through cross-functional engagement.
- Apply Operational Excellence tools to improve processes and communicate the financial impact of business decisions.
- Develop and enhance templates used for month-end close, forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities.
- Assist with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), quarterly forecasts, monthly outlooks, and weekly financial pulse reviews.
- Partner with finance leaders to identify and implement process improvements.
- Validate HFM submissions and support year-end reporting schedules.
- Prepare HFM-based financial reports and analysis for operations and senior management.
- Assist in developing presentations on financial performance, forecasts, budgets, and business results.
- Support account reconciliations and internal control documentation, including Risk Control Matrices (RCMs).
- Perform product and product line profitability analysis and recommend cost improvement opportunities.
- Prepare and analyse key performance reports, including cash flow, inventory turns, capital spending, backlog, product line performance, headcount, and other operational metrics.
- Support the maintenance of a strong internal control environment and SOX compliance initiatives.
- Participate in special projects that broaden financial, operational, and business leadership experience.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Essential Qualifications / Experience:
- B.S. in accounting, finance, or related degree.
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and current accounting practices, with a willingness to deepen technical accounting knowledge on the job.
- Working Knowledge of (SOX) Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- 2-3 years of experience in accounting.
- ERP experience.
