About the opportunity
The Accounting Clerk supports the Corporate Accounting team in all daily and monthly accounting duties for the Hospitality Management Company, primarily relating to accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank deposits, and corporate expense allocations.
What you'll get to do
Records vendor invoices into the AP system and invoices properties for their share of bills
Records A/R invoices generated to properties into the Property AP system and attaches scans of all billing backup
Deposits checks received into the directed account and records deposits in QB to the correct Customer and invoice
Ensures that QuickBooks is in balance with the bank and reconciles corporate American Express and downloads receipts
Verifies intercompany AP and AR are in balance and performs other duties as assigned by the Corporate Controller or Corporate Accounting Manager
Skills and Experience
Has 4 years of experience in bookkeeping or a 2-year degree in accounting, with hospitality experience preferred
Maintains confidentiality at all times due to access to confidential information
Presents a polished and professional appearance and demeanor in person, online, and via phone
Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and is proficient in MS Excel
Is comfortable with learning new software and systems, with experience with M3 preferred
Has highly honed organization skills and strong attention to detail, with the ability to handle stressful situations and deadlines
Can lift up to 25 pounds, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch, and stand for extended periods
