About the Role
We're hiring a Founding Data Analyst to join our FinOps team and build the data foundation that powers Counsel's growth. This is an early-stage, high-impact founding role spanning data wrangling and pipeline development, defining and tracking core operating metrics, and improving reporting and operational workflows across the business.
You'll work directly with our SVP, Finance & Operations and collaborate across Commercial/GTM, Finance, Clinical Ops, and Operations. Instead of owning a small slice of the business, you'll gain broad exposure and take on increasing responsibility as you help build and improve the systems that keep the company running and scaling. This role will have executive level cross functional partnership and requires the ability to connect dots across stakeholders in various organizations.
What you'll do
Build and maintain the data foundation that will power the entire company.
Support the data needs of stakeholders across every function at the company. This will range from product metrics, commercial / client reporting, internal financial and operating metrics.
Build the Operating Scorecard and management dashboards so the entire team can have visibility on business performance and one source of truth.
Partner with Analytics Engineer to validate pipelines and metric definitions.
Turn messy datasets into answers people can act on.
Build and adopt AI-powered tools and workflows that make FinOps faster and efficient.
What you'll bring
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (CS, statistics, applied math, or similar), with meaningful programming experience
5-10 years in a data, analytics, or finance/ops role
Strong SQL, and Python or a similar language to be dangerous
Prior experience as a founding or early data hire in a scaling organization, having contributed to building the foundations and infrastructure
Experience in healthcare or healthtech
Comfort with data that's messy and real, the kind you dig into instead of flagging as someone else's problem. An inherent desire to be a truth seeker
Executive presence to represent senior leaders in cross functional discussions
Genuinely curious about AI tools, and quick to find ways they can cut manual work out of your own workflow
Bonus points for
Experience with dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, or BigQuery
A track record of ramping quickly into new tools, since many of ours are still being built
Experience in both D2C and B2B go-to-market motions
What We Offer
Impact: Be at the forefront and contribute to groundbreaking, AI-driven healthcare experiences, directly interface with execs at the world's leading tech & healthcare orgs
Growth: Significant opportunities for broad ownership and professional development within our rapidly scaling startup
Compensation: Competitive salary + equity
Benefits: Comprehensive healthcare, vision + dental, 401K, Unlimited PTO, Parental Leave
