As an Account Manager, you'll maximise customer retention and commercial value by understanding your customers' business needs and delivering market-leading service and solutions.

This is a growth and retention-focused account management role, where your success will come from strengthening existing customer relationships, identifying opportunities to expand account value, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You'll play a key role in driving retention and revenue growth across your customer portfolio while balancing customer advocacy with strong commercial outcomes.

Your ability to negotiate, influence stakeholders, identify growth opportunities and deliver mutually beneficial solutions will be critical to your success.

We offer a highly competitive salary, plus a monthly performance incentive. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 11:30am – 7:30pm. If you're driven, proactive and passionate about building strong customer relationships while identifying opportunities for growth, we'd love to hear from you.

How We Work

Following three months of training as an Account Manager, you will be expected to work in a hybrid (3 days in office/2 days from home) environment. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

  • Assigned workspace in Ellerslie office
  • Company-issued equipment
  • Formal, hands-on training

Role Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Negotiate commercial terms and contracts, balancing customer outcomes with commercial objectives to deliver mutually beneficial results.
  • Drive customer retention through proactive engagement, solution-focused conversations and exceptional service.
  • Grow your customer portfolio by identifying upselling, cross-selling and account expansion opportunities.
  • Develop compelling solutions that strengthen customer engagement, loyalty and long-term value.
  • Resolve customer issues quickly and professionally, creating positive experiences that build trust and advocacy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, developing a deep understanding of their business goals and challenges.
  • Act as the primary point of contact, providing consistent, proactive communication and strategic support.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Commercial, Credit and Customer Service to deliver seamless customer experiences.
  • Monitor customer health, market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and mitigate risk.
  • Present meaningful performance insights and recommendations using customer and commercial data.
  • Deliver against key performance measures including customer retention, portfolio growth, revenue expansion and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3 to 5 years’ previous experience in Account Management, Relationship Management or a customer-facing commercial or sales role, with a proven ability to build long-term partnerships and grow customer value.
  • Experience within payments, fuel, fleet, automotive, energy, financial services or card products will be highly regarded.
  • A commercial mindset with a passion for customer growth and retention.
  • Proven success in growing existing customer portfolios through relationship management and solution selling.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels, including executive and C-suite.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong commercial judgement, analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience using CRM systems to effectively manage customer portfolios and opportunities.
