*This position is remote and does require travel 3 weeks per month throughout the US.

The HR Generalist, Field Support provides guidance, support, and expertise in the implementation and administration of Human Resources policies, procedures, and programs. Duties include directly supporting facility operations in the absence of an HR Manager, during pre- and post-facility audits, transitions, and during change initiatives; providing training and mentoring to HR Manager and HR facility support staff.

  • Provides support and direction to facility HR in areas such as Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Compliance, Employee Relations, Organizational Development, and other general areas of Human Resources. Directly supports facility operations in absence of an HR Manager at the facility.
  • Ensures timely and accurate advice and services to meet facility goals and objectives.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for facility staff on Human Resources-related matters.
  • Assists in the HR On-boarding process and onsite training and support of facility Human Resources staff.
  • Works with facility Human Resources staff to ensure all specific Human Resources processes, procedures and contractual requirements are met.
  • Supports facility operations in all aspects of Human Resources during facility activation, deactivation, and during mergers or acquisitions.
  • Frequent U.S. travel is required.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or acceptable related field is required.
  • Three years of Human Resources related work experience is required.
  • Additional HR work experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Human Resources experience in a correctional environment preferred.
  • Specialized knowledge of applicable local, state and federal law and regulations in HR employee relations areas such as FMLA, ADA, COBRA, EEO/AA, FLSA and worker's compensation required.
  • Must have strong customer service, time management, organizational, communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards, applicant tracking systems, and experience with an HRIS and payroll software are preferred.
  • Frequent travel required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
