About this role

Cordial Health is seeking a compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with psychiatric experience to provide full-time, in-person behavioral health services throughout the Binghamton and Central New York region.

This position offers the opportunity to provide meaningful psychiatric care to an underserved adult and geriatric population. The provider will practice with a high level of autonomy while receiving comprehensive support from experienced psychiatric, clinical, administrative, and operational leadership.

This is a regional position requiring weekday travel between assigned locations. No weekend work is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, consultations, and follow-up visits
• Diagnose and manage psychiatric, behavioral, cognitive, and neuropsychiatric conditions
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
• Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications
• Evaluate treatment response, medication effectiveness, and behavioral stability
• Assess residents experiencing depression, anxiety, dementia-related behaviors, psychosis, agitation, cognitive decline, and chronic psychiatric conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, social workers, residents, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Educate residents, families, caregivers, and staff regarding psychiatric diagnoses, medications, and treatment recommendations
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
• Provide compassionate, trauma-informed, resident-centered care


Requirements

• Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) or Physician Assistant (PA) with significant psychiatric experience
• Active and unrestricted New York license
• Active DEA registration required
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, psychopharmacology, and treatment planning
• Ability to independently manage an in-person psychiatric caseload while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned region
• Reliable transportation
• Experience in psychiatry, skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, geriatrics, or post-acute care preferred
• Excellent communication, organization, clinical reasoning, and relationship-building skills
