Researcher- Online Threat Intelligence
About this role
Control Risks is seeking a Researcher to join its growing Online Threat Intelligence team, based in Sydney. This is a unique opportunity to work in a team of threat intelligence experts and conduct research on open sources and deep and dark web venues and produce bespoke written analysis.
Tasks & responsibilities
Research and production
- Conduct manual and automated searches to identify threats against our clients and assess their credibility.
- Contribute to the production of high-quality bespoke written analysis aimed at contextualising and assessing the threats faced by our clients.
- Research new sources of information and develop capabilities to collect and analyse information in support of the team's mission.
Consulting responsibilities
- Support in the review and delivery of written bespoke work.
- Communicate effectively to direct intelligence collection to support and enhance the quality of final deliverables.
Essential:
- Practical knowledge of open-source intelligence collection and threat analysis. Ability to prepare written reports with strong attention to detail.
- Experience in managing time efficiently to successfully meet client deadlines.
- Experience in directing, collecting and analysing information, including following leads, in order to produce timely and actionable intelligence.
Preferred:
- An understanding of the main themes in the online threat landscape.
- Additional languages preferable but not essential: Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean or Japanese.
