This person will guide others in resolving complex issues; may lead functional teams or projects. Advanced knowledge of fundamental theories, principles and practices in the area of specialization. Solves complex problems without precedent and/or structure; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions. Works independently, with guidance in complex situations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform and lead evaluations for transaction opportunities and present recommendations to executive management.
  • Key player in acquisitions, divestitures, or other corporate development projects.
  • Conduct research to identify acquisition opportunities, emerging market trends and changes in the competitive landscape.
  • Create relevant technical, operational and/or financial models and analysis.
  • Prepare internal management and board of directors reports and presentations.
  • Monitor and summarize developments and performance of competitors.
  • Present findings and make recommendations related to potential acquisition targets and other opportunities for investment.
  • Build and maintain database of transactions and operational metrics.
  • Willingness to work evenings and occasional weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience.
  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or other advanced degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Knowledge of the upstream oil and gas industry.
  • International oil and gas experience, including evaluating assets, transactions or investment opportunities outside the United States.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access, ARIES, business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Spotfire, GIS, or statistical programming tools such as SAS, SPSS, Stata or R.
  • Experience in corporate development, business development, investment banking, private equity, business strategy or management consulting.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
