Production Engineer - Permian Basin

Job Summary
This is an OKC based engineering position responsible for providing engineering support for the Permian Basin Production Operations team. This role will work closely with field personnel, engineering staff, and asset team to troubleshoot and solve problems, identify opportunities to enhance production, and review expenditures to lower costs with an ultimate goal of driving industry-leading financial, operational, safety, and environmental performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for operations and asset team.
- Collaborate with field personnel and engineering staff on projects and corporate initiatives.
- Monitor operations, well performance, cost control, and profitability in assigned areas.
- Generate and review capital/expense AFE’s for facility, workover, and regulatory expenditures.
- Diagnose downhole and surface equipment problems, support root cause failure analysis process, and recommend intervention or design changes as needed.
- Develop plans for product recovery and treatment (artificial lift, facilities, pipelines, utilities, chemical treatment, etc.).
- Investigate new technologies and implement when appropriate.
- Review lease operating expenditures and identify opportunities to lower costs.
- Analyze well production performance and make recommendations for improvement.
Work with other disciplines including facilities engineering, SCADA, I&E, and measurement to improve production facility operation, design, and reduce cost. - Support/Lead HSE incident investigations and hazard evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with governmental requirements and company policy.
- Travel to Permian Basin at least once a month, more frequently if needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of two (2) years related experience.
- Ability to provide 24/7 availability to assist with field-related issues or constraints and act decisively to eliminate production disruptions.
- Ability to travel to Permian Basin at least once a month, more frequently if needed.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable MVR.
- An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year field experience.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
