Associate JV Business Development Analyst

Job Summary
The Business Development Analyst will primarily support the internal coordination, analysis, and administration of Continental’s joint venture activities. This role will work across technical, operational, financial, accounting, commercial, and legal teams to improve information flow, organize key workstreams, monitor commitments, and support timely decision-making.
A key focus of the position will be identifying opportunities to improve internal processes, reporting, data management, and cross-functional coordination related to joint ventures and other strategic initiatives. The Analyst will help establish consistent tools, trackers, reporting materials, and workflows that improve visibility, accountability, and execution across the organization.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and a continuous-improvement mindset. This individual should be comfortable working with multiple internal stakeholders, managing competing priorities, and independently advancing projects in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate internal joint venture activities and key workstreams.
- Gather and organize information across technical, operational, financial, commercial, accounting, and legal teams.
- Maintain trackers for deliverables, approvals, commitments, deadlines, and action items.
- Improve internal JV processes, workflows, reporting, and communication.
- Develop standardized templates, dashboards, reports, and presentation materials.
- Summarize operational, financial, and commercial information for management.
- Monitor JV budgets, forecasts, capital activity, performance, and key variances.
- Conduct detailed financial lookbacks to compare actual results against forecasts, budgets, and investment assumptions.
- Coordinate internal review of development plans, AFEs, budgets, and other JV materials.
- Support financial analysis and other Business Development projects as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Strong quantitative abilities, acute business judgment and creative problem solving skills.
- An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Experience in business development, finance, planning, operations, joint ventures, or non-operated asset management.
- Strong financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance-analysis skills.
- Experience conducting financial lookbacks and comparing actual results with original investment assumptions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience developing dashboards, trackers, reports, and standardized processes.
- Ability to analyze operational, financial, and commercial data and communicate key findings clearly.
- Familiarity with AFEs, development plans, capital programs, and joint venture agreements is preferred.
- Experience with ARIES, Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire, GIS, or similar analytical tools is beneficial.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
