About the Company
On September 24th, 2011, the world’s first porridge bar opened on Jægersborggade, in the heart of Nørrebro, Copenhagen. The goal was simple: to redefine porridge, and to show the world that porridge can be delicious, delicate and versatile. The company was founded by Lasse Skjønning Andersen, at that time a 21 year old who had developed an enormous passion for porridge as it had helped him out of crime and obesity (and in getting a girlfriend). The company has grown steadily since. We now operate 6 restaurants in Denmark (5 in Copenhagen and 1 in Århus), and market high quality instant porridge, granola and grains in 7Eleven, high-end retailers and in our webshop. The ambitions are huge and international, but the aim is still the same: making great porridge in a fun and caring environment, and changing people’s perspective about the dish once known to be simple and boring. Our staff currently numbers around 80 porridge enthusiasts. We are a diverse group of dancers, yoga teachers, students, chefs and nutrition experts - one of us is even a champion MMA-fighter!
