Quakertown Veterinary Clinic is looking for compassionate, dependable Veterinary Technician Assistants to join our team. Whether you're exploring a career in veterinary medicine or currently enrolled in a veterinary technician program, this role offers valuable hands-on experience in a busy clinical setting.
As a full-service animal hospital serving Bucks County, we provide both routine wellness care and 24/7 emergency services for companion animals and select large animals. You'll work alongside our veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians to help deliver exceptional patient care while supporting the daily operations of the hospital.
What You'll Do
As a Veterinary Technician Assistant, you'll help keep the hospital running smoothly while providing compassionate care to our patients. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the daily care and comfort of hospitalized animals
- Walking dogs and helping meet patients' basic care needs
- Cleaning kennels, cages, litter boxes, and treatment areas
- Maintaining a clean and organized hospital, including sweeping, mopping, and general housekeeping
- Washing dishes, bowls, laundry, and restocking supplies
- Preparing exam rooms and treatment areas before and after appointments and procedures
- Safely restraining animals during examinations and treatments under the direction of medical staff
- Supporting client visits and assisting the veterinary team as needed
Schedule
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available
- Day, evening, and rotating weekend shifts
- Some holidays required as part of our 24-hour hospital schedule
- Shift differentials available for overnight, weekend, and holiday hours
Qualifications
We're looking for individuals who are eager to learn and enjoy working with animals.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Previous experience handling animals is helpful but not required
- Interest in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, organized, and willing to learn
- Professional attitude and positive work ethic
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and perform the physical duties of an active hospital environment
- Ability to work comfortably around dogs, cats, and occasional large animal patients
