SUMMARY

A room assistant is responsible for loading pets into rooms and maintaining cleanliness of the exam rooms and lobby during business hours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides compassionate care to patients and clients; able to conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner even when stressed and/or focused on individual tasks.
  • Receives animals to be admitted, is responsible for their proper identification and for recording their respective location.
  • Prepares and maintains exam rooms.
  • Typical daily Responsibilities include the oversight of technician appointments and keeping doctor appointments on track by loading and cleaning rooms as soon as possible.
  • Understands the importance of a clean and orderly facility and does so as part of regular normal job duty. Follows regular schedule for cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Collects urine and fecal specimens as directed by the doctor
  • Recognizes and records any unusual condition or abnormal behavior
  • Maintains cleanliness throughout the hospital as directed by the Practice Manager
  • Maintains positive, cooperative relationships with other employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned including assisting in other areas.
