Our two hospitals work together as one cohesive practice, providing exceptional care to small animals and exotics. Rhawnhurst Animal Hospital is located in Northeast Philadelphia, and Elkins Park Veterinary Hospital is just 20 minutes away in Montgomery County. Together, our five-doctor team is committed to delivering high-quality medicine while creating lasting relationships with our clients and patients.

What You'll Do
As an Experienced Veterinary Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting our doctors and technicians while helping provide outstanding care to every patient.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Obtain patient histories and accurately document medical information
- Safely restrain patients for exams and treatments
- Collect laboratory samples, including venipuncture when appropriate
- Perform in-house laboratory testing
- Prepare and fill medications under veterinary supervision
- Obtain high-quality digital radiographs
- Assist with hospitalized patient treatments and monitoring
- Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, and preventive care
- Maintain accurate medical records using Impromed software
- Clean, stock, and organize exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment
- Provide exceptional client service while ensuring a positive patient experience
Experience assisting with surgery, anesthesia, or dentistry is a plus but is not required.
What We're Looking For
We're searching for a Veterinary Assistant who enjoys working collaboratively and takes pride in delivering compassionate patient care.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of veterinary assistant experience in a small animal practice
- Comfortable assisting with patient restraint, sample collection, laboratory procedures, radiology, and pharmacy duties
- Experience with venipuncture preferred
- Strong communication and client education skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy clinical environment
- Positive attitude with a team-first mindset
- Availability to work weekdays, evenings, and rotating Saturdays
- Experience working with exotic pets is a plus but not required
