Community Housing Partners (CHP) is looking for a customer-focused, organized Leasing Consultant I to support leasing and resident services at one of our affordable housing communities.

In this role, you’ll be one of the first people prospective residents meet and an important resource for current residents. You’ll help guide applicants through the leasing process, maintain accurate resident records, support occupancy goals, and work closely with the Property Manager and maintenance team to keep the community running smoothly.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong customer service skills who wants to build a career in property management and affordable housing.

What You’ll Do

Leasing & Resident Services

Welcome prospective and current residents in person, by phone, and electronically.
Conduct property tours and explain lease terms, eligibility requirements, and community policies.
Build positive resident relationships and respond to questions and concerns professionally.
Support lease renewals and resident retention.

Applications & Occupancy

Accept, process, and track rental applications and waiting lists.
Verify applicant income, eligibility, and required documentation.
Prepare leases, move-in paperwork, and other leasing documents accurately.
Help maintain strong occupancy by keeping the leasing process moving and coordinating unit readiness.

Compliance & Documentation

Assist with resident certifications and recertifications.
Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready resident files.
Follow Fair Housing requirements and affordable housing regulations.
Escalate complex eligibility or compliance questions to the appropriate manager or compliance team.

Property Operations

Assist with move-in and move-out inspections and documentation.
Maintain leasing, occupancy, and resident records.
Coordinate with maintenance staff regarding unit readiness and resident needs.
Support marketing and outreach efforts to generate leads and maintain property visibility.

What We’re Looking For

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Customer service experience required.
Property management, leasing, housing, or related experience preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organization and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow established processes.
Comfortable working with residents, applicants, coworkers, and community partners.
Ability to learn Fair Housing and affordable housing program requirements.
Ability to obtain required Fair Housing certification within the established timeframe.
Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and learning property management systems such as Yardi and RentCafe.
