About this role

See yourself in our team

This isn't a traditional HR role.

You'll play a leading role in defining how employee experience is delivered at CommBank through a mission-led operating model focused on outcomes rather than organisational silos.

You'll work on some of CommBank's most important employee experience challenges, collaborating with experts in AI, technology, design, analytics and workforce transformation to create experiences that help our people grow, perform, connect and thrive.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Influence experiences that impact more than 50,000 employees.

  • Build on the success of initiatives such as Grow Your Career.

  • Lead strategic employee experience missions that shape the future of work at CommBank.

  • Work at the intersection of employee experience, AI, technology and business transformation.

  • Solve meaningful workforce challenges that improve how people grow, perform and succeed.

  • Help define what great employee experience looks like at enterprise scale.

If you're excited by the opportunity to shape the future of employee experience and lead work that creates lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you.

What your role will involve

As a Delivery Lead within our People Growth team, you’ll play a critical role in turning ambitious ideas into high-quality products and experiences that make a meaningful difference for our people.

Everything we deliver has a people impact. You’ll bring a strong people experience lens to delivery, working hand in hand with our Experience Leads and multidisciplinary teams to ensure we are not only delivering on time, but creating experiences that are intuitive, valuable and deliver the outcomes we set out to achieve.

You’ll provide the delivery leadership needed to take complex, enterprise-wide initiatives from inception and design through to build, implementation, adoption and benefits realisation. Our portfolio spans people experiences, technology and increasingly AI-enabled solutions, so you’ll be comfortable bringing together experience design, UI/UX, program design, technology, change and communications into an integrated approach.

This is much more than managing a project plan. You’ll get underneath what it really takes to deliver, ask the right questions, challenge and strengthen plans, connect dependencies and create clarity and accountability across teams.

You’ll establish clear milestones and measures of success from the outset, while creating the flexibility for teams to learn, adapt and deliver at pace.

On any given day, you will

No two days will look quite the same. You could be working with an Experience Lead to shape a new people experience, getting into the detail of a technology or AI-enabled product, challenging whether a delivery plan is robust enough, resolving a critical dependency, or helping a team prepare for launch and adoption.

You will:

  • Partner closely with Experience Leads to translate their vision and desired people outcomes into clear and executable delivery plans.
Lead delivery across the full lifecycle, from inception, experience and program design, UI/UX and requirements through build, testing, implementation, hypercare, adoption and embedment.

  • Maintain a strong people experience lens throughout delivery, ensuring the needs of our people remain central to the products, services and experiences we create.

  • Translate key milestones into the activities, dependencies, decisions and resources required to achieve them, maintaining a clear view of progress across multiple initiatives.

  • Ask probing questions that help teams anticipate what is coming next, surface gaps and dependencies, and address potential issues before they impact delivery.

  • Create clarity and accountability across multidisciplinary teams, constructively challenging and holding people to commitments while helping remove barriers to progress.

  • Bring together technology, AI, experience design, change and communications activities into cohesive delivery plans.

  • Establish clear success measures and intended benefits upfront, including measures of people experience and adoption, and track these through implementation and benefits realisation.

  • Identify and actively manage delivery risks, issues, dependencies and competing priorities, driving decisions and escalating where required.

  • Work across teams and stakeholders to align priorities, resources and sequencing, ensuring effort remains focused on the activities that will have the greatest impact.

  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve how we deliver and the experiences we create for our people.

To be successful in this role:

You’ll be an experienced delivery professional who thrives in complex, fast-moving environments and is passionate about turning ideas into high-quality experiences and outcomes for people.

You’ll bring 7+ years of experience delivering complex, enterprise-wide programs, products or initiatives, with demonstrated experience taking work from initial concept through to implementation, adoption and measurable outcomes.

Experience delivering significant technology-enabled transformation will be important, and experience with AI-enabled products or experiences will be highly regarded. Experience delivering employee, customer or other human-centred products and experiences would also be valuable, particularly where you have worked closely with product, experience design or UI/UX teams.

Consulting experience would be advantageous, particularly where it has developed your ability to quickly understand unfamiliar problems, bring structure to ambiguity, influence senior stakeholders and move comfortably between strategic thinking and detailed execution.

You’ll also bring:

  • Strong end-to-end project, program or delivery management capability, including planning, prioritisation, governance, risk and dependency management.

  • Experience working across multidisciplinary teams spanning business, technology, product, experience design, change and communications.

  • A strong people or customer experience mindset, with an understanding of how to keep the end user at the centre of design, delivery and decision making.

  • The ability to understand enough of the detail to challenge and strengthen a plan, rather than simply administer it.

  • Strong judgement and a willingness to have a point of view, ask difficult questions and constructively challenge teams and stakeholders.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to create clarity and alignment in complex environments.

  • A learning mindset and genuine curiosity about emerging technology, AI and new ways of working.

  • Adaptability and versatility. You’ll be equally comfortable helping shape something new, getting into the detail to solve a delivery problem or stepping back to understand the bigger picture.

  • A bias for action. You’ll get involved, bring people together and help find a way forward.

  • Resilience, energy and comfort operating in an environment where priorities can evolve quickly.

Most importantly, you’ll combine delivery discipline with a genuine focus on people experience, helping us turn ambitious ideas into products and experiences that our people value and want to use.
