About this role

Join a growing and dedicated health team focused on supporting Australia's broad healthcare landscape. In this exciting role, you'll help grow our market share and further extend CommBank Health's brand within the community — while building your credit skills at the centre of the team.

You'll work with the CommBank Health team, Risk, frontline bankers and other stakeholders to support quality lending deals, help keep our lending policies practical and easy to use, and turn research and portfolio data into insights that shape strategy and support safe growth.

We're a high-performing, customer-focused team, and we're looking for someone who is self-driven, open-minded and motivated to take ownership of their work. You'll enjoy a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and solving problems with your analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Team:

CommBank Health is the dedicated healthcare industry vertical established to provide specialised solutions and service to the Group's healthcare customers. We engage with industry partners and design and implement strategy, policy and banker capability programs, to deliver our aspiration of becoming the #1 provider of banking and financial services to the Australian healthcare industry.

Impact and contribution:

Reporting to the Executive Manager – Portfolio & Policy Optimisation, CommBank Health, the purpose of the role is to grow CommBank Health's market share and brand, and to strengthen the credit, policy and portfolio support we give our bankers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support bankers on Health lending deals — reviewing key deal details, providing guidance on lending proposals, answering lending policy questions, assisting with resolving exceptions, and keeping deal records accurate and well-organised for reporting.

  • Provide data, research and reporting support to the team — including sourcing external information (news, industry insights, proposed legislative changes, competitors) to assist with strategy and policy development.

  • Pull together and analyse portfolio data to spot trends, risks and opportunities, and assess the potential impact of industry changes.

  • Build and maintain reporting and dashboards using Excel and Power BI, and prepare clear tables, charts and summaries that bring data to life for senior audiences.

  • Build a network of internal contacts to provide industry knowledge and insights for presentations, industry reviews and internal reporting.

  • Help keep our lending guidance and information sources simple, accurate, relevant and compliant.

Your skills and experience:

  • Some experience in a credit, lending, banking, strategy, or data and analytics role, with a genuine interest in building credit skills. Healthcare experience highly desired.

  • Solid research and reporting ability, with some data analysis skills — comfortable in Excel, with an appetite to grow your capability and familiarity with AI toolkits.

  • Stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across frontline teams, risk, compliance and marketing, as well as external industry bodies and advisory firms.

  • Strong attention to detail, a disciplined approach, and a strong sense of time management and urgency with a focus on outcomes.

  • Effective presentation skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

  • A tertiary qualification in Business/Finance, Commerce, Strategy or Marketing would be highly regarded.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a team that is making a real impact in the healthcare industry.

  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth.

  • A supportive and collaborative work environment.

  • Hybrid working arrangements available.
