Manufacturing Test Technician

About this role

This Temporary position for 6-8 months and will be pay-rolled through our temporary agency partner.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: 

  1. Perform alignments, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of components, circuits, sub-assemblies, modules, and systems.
  2. Recognize failures and set up problems encountered during system testing and formulate corrective action plans.
  3. Operate multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, current probes, thermometers, and special test equipment.
  4. Perform tasks in accordance with established quality and safety standards.
  5. Conduct engineering and quality assurance test evaluations.
  6. Train technicians.
  7. Interface with all levels of management and customers.
  8. Assist in other projects, as required.
  9. Assist sub-assembly and Final assembly with other tasks as required.
  10. Maintain equipment calibration as per ISO standards.
  11. Perform routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) task and inspection on testing equipment as required (including mechanical alignments). 
  12. Operate complex pick and place (PnP) Handlers (M3, Eclipse X)

Supervisory Responsibility: None.

Qualifications: 

  • Education: AS degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience in test and/or E/M manufacturing environment.
  • Skills/Technical Requirements: Knowledge of electronics theory and the ability to read and interpret schematics; ability to wire and build test fixtures; advanced diagnostic skill level.  PCB soldering and rework, electronic components sourcing, and completing bills of materials.  Advanced computer skills and good written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Software: Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Able to add/modify and update pertinent data in MS Excel. Work on reports using MS Word. Works with several complex software tools to test parts as per MPI’s & Work instructions. 

Job Conditions: 

Works in lab environment with constant or intermittent noise. Works with various chemicals (such as Refrigerants, HFE, Alcohol, OS10, RTV’s, Epoxy, etc.) to complete necessary tasks.

Physical Demands/Strengths: 

Ability to stand or sit at a bench for extended periods; bend, crouch, sit or kneel to work on a system. Lift up to 50lbs. 

Protective Devices Required: 

Safety glasses, safety shoes, and ear protection in required areas.

Compensation: The estimated base pay range for this position is $23.20 to $26.09 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, education, and other job-related factors. This range represents Cohu’s good faith estimate of what it reasonably expects to pay for this role upon hire.
