About this role

Main Objectives

  • Acts as the technical bridge between a sales team and its customers, ensuring products and/or software are effectively customized, installed, and supported
  • Analyze client needs, provide pre/post-sales technical support, conduct product demonstrations, and create custom technical solutions.
  • Propose and evaluate feasibility and risk of new concepts using first-principles physics and empirical modeling.
  • Closely coordinate activities with the Product Marketing Manager and Product Manager to align on targeted approach and strategy for specific markets, customers and applications 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Present technical solutions in collaboration with customers and stakeholders.
  • Participate in and help resolve system-level issues in collaboration with internal engineering resources, customers and stakeholders.
  • Identify gaps in product capabilities to align to customer and market needs
  • Act as a technical interface to internal departments as well as customers and external partners
  • Definition and alignment of system requirements in close collaboration with engineering teams
  • Understand how product software works in delivering the overall technical solution for market needs

  • Customer-oriented thinking and ability to represent the company in technical discussions.
     

Requirements & Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, control engineering or a related field. (MSc, MEng, etc. desired)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct design experience or application support of complex mechatronic systems, ideally in semiconductor backend capital equipment.
  • Experience with technical standards and industrial development processes.
  • Understanding and/or working experience with thermal systems, motion control, control systems, automation robotics, semiconductor manufacturing processes around packaging and test.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of time as required for projects and customer support
  • Willingness to work five days a week (with some flexibility) on-site at our San Diego (Rancho Bernardo) location 
  • Excellent English communication skills: Chinese a plus.

     

Compensation: The estimated base pay range for this position is $113,400 to $141,800 per year, depending on qualifications, experience, education, and other job-related factors. This range represents Cohu’s good faith estimate of what it reasonably expects to pay for this role upon hire. This role may also be eligible for other compensation programs as determined by company policy.
