FUNCTION:  

Responsible for preparing coffee and specialty drinks with a comprehensive understanding of coffee blends, quality, and variety according to Starbucks and the Nugget’s procedures. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Ability to recite recipes from memory and flawlessly prepare beverages. 
  2. Responsible for welcoming each guest in an upbeat, positive, and professional manner. 
  3. Upsell food items in accordance with restaurant standards. 
  4. Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment, including, but not limited to toasters, refrigerators, coolers, slicers, and blenders. 
  5. Take guest orders accurately, prepare orders in a timely manner. 
  6. Collect payment following all proper cash handling and comp procedures. 
  7. Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of the front and back of the house, clear tables, and counters, sweep and maintain the cleanliness of the dining area without interfering with guests. 
  8. Responsible for stocking retail areas and cold foods as needed, ensuring product expiration dates are current. 
  9. Cleans and stocks guest service areas with necessary items such as creamer, sugar, napkins and stir sticks.
  10. Maintain visually attractive presentation of Starbucks retail merchandise. 
  11. Perform opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment. 
  12. Unload warehouse orders and stock orders to designated storage, maintaining organization. 
  13. Establish and maintain effective channels of communication with all levels of the Nugget team and guests. 
  14. Using the Nugget’s system of recognition, recognize team members who are going “above and beyond” as appropriate.
  15. Knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
  16. Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike. 
  17. Immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, and the Safety Manager. 
  18. Maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same.
  19. Regular predictable attendance is required.
  20. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:      Lead Barista

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

EDUCATION LEVEL:

High School diploma or equivalent is required.

 

LANGUAGE:

Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language. 

 

EXPERIENCE:  

One (1) year guest service and cashier experience required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift, and move product up to 50 lbs.

Fine finger manipulation. 

Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels.

Work may be performed indoors and outdoors during special events.
