CMS Sofia Lawyers Partnership is offering an excellent opportunity for an attorney to join our Sofia team as part of the ongoing expansion of our Employment practice.
We collaborate closely with our international CMS colleagues, and there will be opportunities to work on multi-jurisdictional matters. We encourage our team to attend a variety of training sessions, business development events and integration activities at CMS offices abroad.

Associate
in Litigation Arbitration Insurance and Employment Practice (Ref: A-LAIE)
Responsibilities:
- Supporting us in covering the whole spectrum of employment law. Providing high-quality, practical legal support to our clients with a focus both on local and international HR/employment matters;
- Involvement in a broad range of Commercial, Regulatory, Data Protection advice;
- Drafting and revising commercial agreements, clients’ documents, policies, General Terms;
- Representing clients in court in commercial and employment disputes;
- Developing and reviewing employment contracts and policies;
- Conducting of employment-related investigations and procedures and managing pre-litigation negotiations;
- Providing support for various corporate initiatives and projects requiring employment and commercial law expertise, such as cross-border mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, divestments and outsourcing;
- Preparing legal documents accurately and in a timely manner;
- Providing timely updates on legislation, especially concerning employment legislation; assessing the possible outcome of forthcoming legislative amendments;
- Work in close co-operation with more senior staff and peers.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in law from a Bulgarian university;
- 2-3 years of professional experience in employment law or commercial law in a law firm or as inhouse counsel in a large corporation;
- Very good knowledge of the Bulgarian and EU employment law framework;
- Experience in Data protection matters is an advantage;
- Еxperience with advising clients on competition law matters is an advantage, but not a must;
- Excellent knowledge of Bulgarian and English, both written and spoken;
- Excellent drafting skills and ability to translate legal theory into practical advice;
- Excellent time management and organisational skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines;
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity;
- “Can do” attitude and ability to focus on details;
- Willingness to grow and develop professionally.
