Role Overview
You will support negotiations for slot agreements and contribute to the structuring, modification, review, and ongoing management of new and existing airline alliance partnerships. The role requires sound commercial judgment, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to balance strategic objectives with operational, financial, and relationship considerations.
Key Responsibilities
Network Design & Partnership Management
- Implement new partnership agreements, including the setup of pro forma schedules, slot costs, excess rates, and other commercial and operational terms.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support new service launches and service changes, including the preparation of allocation tables.
- Prepare and maintain marketing sell sheets for new and existing partnership services.
- Monitor the intra-Asia competitive landscape and evaluate emerging market, network, and partnership opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing partnership agreements, address structural issues, and enhance commercial or operational performance.
Partnership/Service Management
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with existing partners to support effective day-to-day collaboration.
- Negotiate with partners to optimize service and business performance, resolve operational or commercial issues, and improve partnership terms.
- Manage the operational performance of partnership services, including reviews of schedule recovery, off-hiring requirements, and the sharing of operational savings in the Lines’ best interests.
- Work closely with Lines, Operations, and Commercial Finance to assess compensation requirements arising from port omissions or blank sailings, and negotiate compensation arrangements with partners in accordance with commercial requirements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and partners to plan blank sailings, slidings, and deployment changes in response to market demand.
- Partner with legal teams on claims-related matters and coordinate with partners or agencies to follow up on government or terminal incentives and resolve other partnership issues.
Billings/Contract
- Process billing for partnership services, including updating slot costs and terminal THC recoveries, tracking vessel pairings, and verifying partners’ statements.
- Prepare new partnership agreements and contractual documentation, update terms for existing agreements, and complete relevant regulatory filings for new or amended services.
- Maintain accurate partnership data and commercial terms in relevant systems, including LISA, MYPAM, and the PA Dashboard Power App.
- Ensure billing, contractual, regulatory, and system records are accurate, timely, and aligned with approved partnership terms.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree from an established and reputable university, preferably in business analysis, economics, maritime related studies
- At least 1 to 3 years of experience in container shipping industry, specifically with network planning / trade / pricing experience
- Excellent communication skills (spoken and written)
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, vlookup, etc)
