About this role

Call Qualifier — 2 Month Max Term Contract with options for permanent role (Sydney CBD, Hybrid)

We're looking for a Call Qualifier to join Cluey Learning for a two-month contract. You'll be the first voice our families hear - speaking with parents who've enquired about tutoring for their child, understanding what's going on academically and what they're hoping to change, then either transferring them straight through to a specialist or booking a consultation for our closing team.

Parents come to us for all sorts of reasons: a maths result that's slipped, HSC pressure, a child who's lost confidence, or a selective or scholarship exam on the horizon. This role suits someone who listens well, asks good questions, and can hold a warm, unhurried conversation while still moving it forward.

What you'll do

  • Call and qualify inbound and warm leads from parents enquiring about tutoring

  • Run discovery conversations i.e. year level, subjects, current results, what's been tried, what success looks like for them, drivers for the enquiry etc

  • Read the moment and choose the right next step: a live transfer to an agent, or a booked appointment

  • Handle common objections (price, timing, "we'll think about it," past experiences with tutors) with empathy and confidence

  • Hand over cleanly i.e. clear notes on the child's needs so the next conversation picks up where yours left off

  • Keep the CRM accurate and up to date: every call logged, every status current

  • Hit weekly call, transfer and conversion targets

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience in lead generation, lead qualification, appointment setting or phone-based sales

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong objection handling and negotiation ability

  • Confidence running discovery that uncovers real motivators, not just surface answers

  • Genuine ability to build rapport with parents - many are stressed, unsure, or comparing options

  • Solid CRM skills - you're organised, accurate, and don't let leads slip

  • Sydney CBD-based – 2 days WFH; 3 days in office

  • Full working rights in Australia

  • A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Familiarity with the NSW school system or the education/tutoring sector is a bonus, not a must

The details

  • 2-month max term contract, starting 24th August

  • $55,000 pro rata + commission + super

  • Hybrid: Mon–Tue from home, Wed–Fri in our Sydney CBD office
