As part of our commitment to operational excellence, our global Operations Stategy & Solutions organization is driving a Digital Lean transformation initiative to modernize and continuously improve how we work.
To support this initiative, we are looking for a motivated Intern – Operations Strategy & Solutions (m/f/d) to join our team. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to cutting-edge Lean methodologies and digital transformation practices within an international, cross-functional environment. This is a full-time position for 6 to 12 months, based in Frankfurt, Germany.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning and execution of Lean Operations and Maintenance improvement projects within global teams, contributing to hands-on project activities and follow-up
- Research and analyze emerging best practices in Digital Lean transformation, covering methodologies, tools, and digital enablers (e.g., AI, automation, data analytics)
- Benchmark Clariant's Lean practices against industry trends and compile findings into structured reports and knowledge repositories
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather insights and translate research outcomes into practical recommendations
- Assist in preparing and facilitating workshops, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing formats for Digital Lean capability building
- Monitor innovation trends and contribute to the digital evolution of Lean practices across a global organization
- Optimize and develop Power BI Dashbords to create transparency for maintenance workflows and Performance Management
- Preparing training materials with GenAI for a company-wide rollout, including video editing of training sessions
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's student in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Engineering, Digital Business, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Hands-on interest in executing Lean projects, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), or Maintenance improvement initiatives is expected; familiarity with project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Jira, or similar) is a plus
- Strong digital skills, including proficiency with GenAI tools and modern research methods
- Academic exposure to Lean management, digital transformation, or process improvement, and familiarity with Lean or agile methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma, Scrum) is a plus
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with a proactive attitude and the ability to work independently
