Right now, we are looking for a Senior Data Migration Engineer for a client on our Talent Team.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement data migration strategies between legacy and target platforms.
  • Analyse source and target data models, ensuring consistency, completeness and integrity throughout the migration lifecycle.
  • Develop and optimise ETL/ELT processes for large-scale data movement and transformation.
  • Support data validation, reconciliation, testing and cutover activities.
  • Contribute to coexistence strategies between legacy and modern platforms.
  • Ensure migration processes are observable, auditable and automated whenever possible.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, engineering teams, operations teams and business stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate migration risks while supporting rollout and transition plans.
  • Contribute to the delivery of a resilient, scalable and secure payments ecosystem.

You must have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Migration or similar roles.
  • Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale data migration projects.
  • Strong experience with DB2, MongoDB, ETL/ELT frameworks and methodologies, Java.
  • Experience working with critical, highly available and high-volume transactional systems.
  • Strong understanding of migration testing, data reconciliation and validation processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in both Portuguese and English.
  • Availability to work in a hybrid model (3 days per week onsite in Lisbon or Viseu and 2 days remote).

  • Migration of mission-critical platforms.
  • Legacy-to-cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Temporary coexistence between legacy and target systems.
  • Shadow mode, reverse shadow, dual-run or parallel-run migration approaches.
  • Progressive rollout strategies and phased migrations.
  • Migration automation and observability frameworks.
  • Real-time payment systems and high-throughput transaction platforms.
