OPERATIONS MANAGER II – TREASURY MANAGEMENT ACCOUNT ANALYSIS LEADERSHIP
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Responsible for planning, controlling and directing the Treasury Management Account Analysis operational function and its staff. This role oversees a specialized team responsible for GL Balancing, TM Product Billing, and account analysis activities on behalf of Treasury Management and cross-functional banking groups. Includes day-to-day management of staff, balancing workloads, monitoring service levels and building relationships with stakeholders across multiple lines of business. Become fully trained in all areas of Treasury Management Account Analysis operations. Focus on long-term, strategic activities with emphasis on workflow automation, quality, performance metrics, and leadership development. Responsible for all projects assigned to the Treasury Management Account Analysis department, compliance-related activities, and serves as subject matter expert and liaison on cross-functional task forces and project teams.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Builds and manages a strong and diverse Treasury Management Account Analysis team to meet business objectives and maximize productivity, quality, customer service/satisfaction, colleague morale, retention, controls on operating risk, and financial goals.
- Provides strategic leadership in GL Balancing and TM Product Billing operations while driving process improvements and operational excellence.
- May function as primary liaison with Core Banking, Commercial Banking Centers, Treasury Management stakeholders, other line units/departments, and vendors; ensures strong working relationships across departments and colleagues.
- Ensures activities are in compliance with legal/regulatory requirements and CNB policy and procedure with specific emphasis on BSA and USA Patriot Act, including adherence to OFAC, AML, CTR, EDD and all applicable compliance-related functions.
- Ensures staff receives appropriate training to maintain proper risk-related controls, regulatory knowledge, and Account Analysis technical expertise.
- Ensures that staff makes appropriate decisions, including escalating to management, referring transactions to KYC Department for enhanced due diligence or Compliance Investigations for suspicious activity reporting as required.
- Performs BSA/AML/OFAC reviews of client transactions as applicable to Account Analysis operations.
- Manages and/or participates in departmental and bank-wide projects; formulates project plans, manages resources, tracks assignments, and facilitates meetings.
- Identifies, recommends and implements new processes, procedures and products specific to Account Analysis to improve workflow, efficiency and profitability; oversees operations development and improvement initiatives.
- Creates and facilitates changes by integrating new systems or processes; measures results and identifies corrective actions to meet goals.
- Establishes clear understanding of internal/external customer requirements; maintains service standards and monitors trends.
- Seeks and implements industry best practices; remains knowledgeable in Treasury Management and Account Analysis industry trends.
- Effectively communicates to inform, persuade, influence and direct others.
- Participates in budget process and finance-related projects impacting the department; reviews monthly budgetary and general ledger reports to monitor expenses.
- Directly or indirectly oversees all Human Resources and related functions, including hiring, personnel matters, performance appraisals, payroll records, and staff development and career planning.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
- Responsible and accountable for appropriate quality controls related to financial products, services delivered, processes employed, and colleague incentives.
- Ensures all City National products, financial solutions and services are provided ethically and with integrity consistent with City National’s PRIDE statement.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years banking operations experience in a financial institution required.
- Minimum 5 years banking and operations management experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing projects and/or teams required.
- Experience in Treasury Management Account Analysis, GL Balancing, or TM Product Billing operations preferred.

- Management experience within Treasury Management or financial services operations.
- Critical and strategic thinker with knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements.
- Seasoned problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to create influential documents, presentations and facilitate group or team collaboration.
- Working knowledge of financial and budget processes.
- Knowledge of Treasury Management products, services, and industry practices.
