Director of Enterprise Infrastructure

Join the team at The Citadel as a Director of Enterprise Infrastructure, serving as a senior technical analyst and working manager responsible for supporting and improving critical campus enterprise systems and technology services. This position combines hands-on technical and analytical responsibilities with the supervision and development of technical staff.
We are seeking an experienced IT professional with strong systems analysis, programming, troubleshooting, and project management skills. The successful candidate will work directly with campus departments, vendors, and IT teams to analyze business and technical needs, resolve complex issues, implement system improvements, and support enterprise platforms including ERP, CRM, databases, servers, and cloud technologies. Experience with higher education systems such as Ellucian Banner or Slate CRM is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior technical analyst for enterprise applications, systems, integrations, and infrastructure.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and recommend solutions to improve institutional processes and services.
- Troubleshoot complex application, database, integration, server, and system issues.
- Develop, test, and implement system enhancements, integrations, reports, and technical solutions.
- Provide hands-on support for enterprise applications, databases, servers, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
- Supervise technical staff, assign priorities, monitor workloads, and provide coaching and performance feedback.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, documentation, and cross-training to staff.
- Coordinate projects and system implementations with campus departments, vendors, and other IT teams.
- Support application security, system access, data integrity, and technology best practices.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to enterprise systems and services.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or a related field and five years of progressive IT experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), and enterprise programming technologies.
- Experience with server infrastructure and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with cloud technologies, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Azure.
- Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to support and troubleshoot complex enterprise technology environments.
