Senior Automation QA Engineer

Ciklum is looking for a Senior Automation QA Engineer to join our team full-time in Bulgaria.

About the role:

As a Senior Automation QA Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow.

Responsibilities:

• Lead manual and automation testing efforts for enterprise applications with a focus on quality, scalability, and release readiness
• 5+ years of experience in QA Engineering with strong manual and automation testing experience
• Develop, maintain, and execute UI and API automation frameworks using ASP.Net / Python and Power Automate (supported by Python/PowerShell scripts)
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and delivery
• Mentor team members on automation best practices, testing processes, and framework improvements
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to identify risks, troubleshoot defects, and improve overall product quality
• Validate APIs, integrations, and backend processes to ensure reliable data flow across systems

Requirements:

• Strong experience as a Business Analyst in payments, fintech, or financial services, with a solid understanding of payment processing and settlement workflows
• Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements for payment gateway consolidation or payment platform modernization initiatives
• Good understanding of payment gateways, transaction lifecycle, reconciliation, clearing, settlement, refunds, and chargebacks
• Experience working on legacy application modernization, preferably involving PHP-based applications and migration to modern architectures
• Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, product owners, and engineering teams to define target-state processes and solution requirements
• Experience creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows (BPMN/UML), acceptance criteria, and traceability matrices
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence, with experience supporting sprint planning, backlog refinement, and UAT
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge business objectives and technical implementation across cross-functional teams
