About the role:
The Global Head of Network (Chief Network Officer) leads the end-to-end provider network strategy, contracting, and performance management across the Health segment within IHDS.
The role establishes a single, enterprise-led network model, ensuring alignment with IH and IHDS strategic priorities while optimizing cost, access, quality, and provider performance. It drives global consistency in contracting, strengthens strategic provider partnerships, and enables differentiated customer and provider value.
This position reports directly to the Chief Health Officer and is a key member of the Health Organization Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Strategy & Market Insight
- Define and deliver a multi-year global provider network strategy aligned with IH and IHDS priorities.
- Lead periodic network strategy reviews across regions and functions to ensure consistency and performance optimization.
- Monitor provider market dynamics, including pricing trends, regulatory changes, and competitive positioning.
- Identify strategic network partnership opportunities (hospital groups, Centres of Excellence, value-based providers).
- Partner with Finance and Medical Economics on network cost drivers, forecasting, and performance insights.
Global Contracting & Provider Partnerships
- Establish and govern global contracting strategies, standards, and methodologies.
- Lead negotiations for strategic and high-value provider partnerships at a global level.
- Drive value-based contracting models to improve quality outcomes and cost efficiency.
- Ensure alignment between regional contracting execution and enterprise objectives.
- Strengthen provider relationship management and engagement frameworks.
Network Performance Management
- Define and implement network segmentation and performance frameworks across cost, quality, and access dimensions.
- Oversee provider performance monitoring, including utilization, outcomes, and provider experience.
- Integrate clinical, operational, and payment integrity insights into network optimization decisions.
- Drive initiatives to improve network efficiency, adequacy, and member experience.
- Partner with D&A and Technology to enhance data-driven network management capabilities.
- Report progress to portfolio management function within Strategy & Transformation to inform prioritization and resource allocation
Enterprise Integration & Execution
- Act as the enterprise integrator for provider network strategy, aligning with IH, BOB, IHDS and enterprise.
- Ensure network strategy is embedded into product design, care models, clinical programs and operational delivery.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that optimize the full health value chain.
- Influence enterprise investment decisions related to network capabilities, partnerships, and innovation
Governance & Value Delivery
- Establish and lead global network governance frameworks, including contracting, performance, training/orientation and partnerships.
- Ensure disciplined prioritization and execution of network initiatives with multi-million-dollar impact.
- Track and deliver measurable outcomes on cost containment, quality improvement and access expansion.
- Provide executive-level reporting on network performance and value realization.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Business, Healthcare Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in provider network, contracting, and healthcare operations.
- Extensive experience in international health insurance and multi-market provider network management.
- Proven track record in large-scale network transformation and cost optimization.
- Deep expertise in provider contracting, pricing, and partnership models.
- Strong understanding of clinical operations, payment integrity, and healthcare economics.
- Experience leading multicultural, multi-location teams in a global environment.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance cost, quality and access trade-offs.
- Strong executive presence with ability to influence enterprise stakeholders and external partners.
- Financial acumen with demonstrated ability to drive ROI and cost savings impact.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Several language capabilities is preferred
