About this role
TRIAGE
The primary purpose of this role is to triage patients, gather medical history, teach patients, teach other team members, renew prescriptions, return phone calls, relay instructions from the physician to patients, and return more phone calls. In addition, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate under direct MD to help initiate, present, and manage research studies. They will ensure that Clinical Good Practice, Study Protocols, and our practice's Standard Operating Procedures are executed accurately and in accordance with CGP, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements. They will interface with participants, ensuring a high quality of participant care and all due diligence associated with consent and study documentation. Successful associates can be named as a co-author in research publications. This role will report to the Practice Administrator. The ideal candidate has an MD and previous clinical experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that documentation meets appropriate coding requirements.
- Triage patient calls and communication.
- Accompany the physician into the patient examination area to transcribe a history and physical examination as given by the patient and physician.
- Under the direction of the physician, transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
- Transcribe any consultations or discussions with family and/or the patient's private physician or the on-call physician.
- Complete the patient's chart by transcribing results of any labs, x-rays, or other evaluations.
- Continuously check on the progress of patient chart data to get the patient's workup complete so that the physician can make his or her decision regarding that patient.
- Lists all proper diagnoses as well as any discharge/follow up instructions and prescriptions, as dictated by the physician.
- Comply with all policies, established procedures, and regulations related to clinical research.
- Help conduct clinical research and have the potential to be medically published.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- One to three years of experience and knowledge of medical techniques and terminology
- Bachelor's degree in science or a related field preferred, or a combination of relevant research experience and education
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with PC-based computer skills
- Microsoft Office Suite
- EClinicalWorks

- Bilingual preferred
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibility.

WAGE
The salary range is $22-$25hr.
