The Construction Superintendent directs, supervises, manages, and controls all activities associated with customer-funded construction for an OCONUS project in Morocco. This position manages construction trades and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with the approved design, contract requirements, applicable policies, and government regulations. The Construction Superintendent enforces established means, methods, and procedures; implements processes to maintain project schedules and budgets; coordinates work priorities; and provides oversight for OCONUS facility projects.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise multinational construction trades and subcontractors in the performance of their duties to plan, schedule, and coordinate projects to repair, alter, and renovate building structures and installed equipment.
  • Supervise and maintain 100% accountability for all assigned staff. Responsible for the overall management, development, and evaluation of team members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws.
  • Establish Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Implement policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and control all construction work activities
  • Determine personnel and subcontractor requirements for contract construction programs.
  • Establish Quality Control Standards for end products.
  • Promote Safety and Security Awareness.
  • Perform Quality Assurance and Safety activities for all construction projects.
  • Conduct unannounced quality and safety inspections on a regular basis.
  • Ensure all functions are in accordance with operational plans for safety, fire prevention, emergency evacuation, and mishaps.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports per the contract deliverables and as requested by the customer.
  • Review ongoing costs to ensure operations are completed within the assigned budget.
  • Ensures construction is complete in accordance with approved design
  • Ensure all required deliverables are provided on time
  • Attends weekly program management and monthly operations meetings
  • Coordinates and oversees all travel arrangements for OCONUS personnel.
  • Develops Logistics Management Plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 10+ years’ experience as a Construction Superintendent or Manager on US Federal projects
  • 5+ years’ experience in Civil works
    • Airfields and runways preferred
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field preferred
  • Prior OCONUS experience preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Civil construction
  • Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Read and follow blueprints
  • Experience in as-built drawing packages
  • Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS
  • Ability to work at OCONUS locations 100% of the time
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word required.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project desired.
  • Knowledge of computer-based facilities management software is desired.
