About this role
The Editor position involves editing and proofreading investigative reports and tailoring reports to client-specific requests. This candidate is responsible for reviewing reports for content, confirming that client objectives are met, and contacting investigators/regional case managers for clarification and details regarding reports. The Editor also reviews video and audio footage sent in by field investigators. This candidate may be required to work overtime to complete the essential functions of the position. It is unlikely that travel for business purposes will be required. This is a fast-paced growing office that requires someone to be able to multitask, work independently and take initiative. This position is entry level with room to advance. Training is provided and we promote within.
- Review, proofread and edit investigative reports for content and confirming client objectives are met.
- Review investigative video and audio footage.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to identify inconsistencies, errors, and unclear information.
- Ability to ensure reports fully address client requirements.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills and a thorough knowledge of principles of composition and grammar.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask and take direction from multiple adjusters.
- Strong interpersonal skills and work co-operatively with others to achieve a common goal.
- Take direction, follow up, assist the other Editors when necessary and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Adaptability, initiative, and dependability and must maintain absolute confidentiality with respect to the Company’s proprietary information.
- Excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading skills.
- Ability to understand written and oral communication, communicate clearly and accurately, both orally and in writing, and prepare reports and correspondence.
- Competent personal computer skills using Microsoft Office applications, electronic mail system, and routine database activity; Ability to type 50 wpm.
- Ability to maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as determined in the Company’s sole discretion; ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrive at meetings and appointments on time.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Previous remote/work-from-home experience preferred.
